A cleaning quote should show the service scope, price, assumptions, exclusions, payment terms, cancellation terms and quote expiry date. The aim is not to sound complicated; it is to prevent misunderstandings before the job starts.

Quote sections to include

• Client details, property or premises type and requested service date or frequency.
• Included areas and tasks, written in plain language.
• Exclusions such as oven cleaning, carpet cleaning, mould removal, biohazards, high-level work or heavy waste if not included.
• Access, parking, pets, alarms, keys and anything the client must prepare before arrival.
• Price, deposit if used, payment method, cancellation terms and quote expiry date.
• Conditions that may change the price, such as heavy soil, inaccurate room count or unavailable access.

Worked quote example

For a three-hour domestic clean, a quote could state: includes kitchen surfaces, bathroom, dusting, vacuuming and mopping agreed rooms. Excludes oven, inside windows, laundry, carpet cleaning and heavy decluttering. Price based on clear access, parking within the agreed distance and client-provided power and water. Quote valid for the stated period.

For a small office, a quote could state: includes agreed desks, kitchenette, toilets, bins, touchpoints and floors twice weekly. Excludes consumable restocking and periodic deep-clean tasks unless listed as add-ons.

Before sending the quote

Run the numbers through the quote calculator, then check profit per job. If margin is weak, adjust the scope, add a minimum call-out, increase the price or decline the work rather than relying on volume to fix a poor quote.
